I coached my athlete Shrijana Ghising to win Nepal's first-ever historic gold medal at the Riyadh 2022 World Para Taekwondo Grand Prix Final (G10) .
Shrijana Ghising is the first Nepali taekwondo player to win a major medal by defeating the World Taekwondo (WT) No. 1, 2, and 3 ranked players at the Riyadh 2022 World Para Taekwondo Grand Prix Final (G-10). This was a historic milestone for Nepali taekwondo, as it marked both the country's first-ever participation and its first gold medal win.
Ghising dominated World No. 1 Meryem Betul Cavdar of Turkey with a commanding 12-0 victory in the final bout, securing Nepal's first-ever gold medal at the World Para-Taekwondo Grand Prix, a G10 category event. She began her impressive journey by defeating World No. 2 Jessica Quijano of Mexico 8-7 in the first round, advancing to the semi-finals. She then triumphed over Brazil's World No. 3 Cristhiane Nascimento with a narrow 15-13 victory to set up her final clash with Cavdar. Throughout the final, Ghising gave Cavdar no opportunities, sealing a dominant 12-0 win.
